Brocase CNA1010 Driver install on vSphere

The Brocade Adapter Software Installer is not supported on the VMware
“console” operating system. However, you can use an applicable software
installer from the list under “Installing software (Windows, Linux, and Solaris)”
on page 7 to install HCM on a “guest” system.
VMware, drivers, and utilities are provided as ISO images packaged in a
tarball (.tr.gz). Use the following steps for installation.
1. Download the appropriate package (for example,
brocade_driver_esx40_.tar.gz) using the following steps:
a. Go to the Brocade website at www.brocade.com/adapters.
b. Navigate to the adapters Downloads page.
c. Select VMware from the Download list.
d. Download the driver package by clicking the package link and
following on-screen directions.
2. Copy the file to your system’s /tmp directory.
3. Follow instructions for ESX or ESXi installation under “Driver
installation and removal on VMware systems” in the Software
Installation chapter of the Brocade Adapters Installation and
Reference Manual.
Since the ESX 5.0 driver installation process does not enforce maintenance
mode, it is recommended to put the host in maintenance mode, as a reboot is
required after installation.

For ESX 4.1 systems, use the following command.
brocade_install.sh {-u,-h, -n, -t}
where:
u Uninstalls driver all packages, utilites, and HCM Agent.
h Displays help for install script.
n Installs all packages without prompting.
t Installs tools only (utilities and HCM agent).
• For ESXi 4.1 and ESXi 5.0 systems, use the following command.
brocade_install_esxi.sh {-u, -h, -n}
where:
u Uninstalls driver all packages, utilites, and HCM Agent.
h Displays help for install script.
n Installs all packages without prompting
